Assistant coach target No. 1 - Dennard Wilson, Ravens DB coach

Macdonald could take Dennard Wilson with him from the Ravens and make Wilson his defensive coordinator for the Seahawks. Wilson has been looked at as a possible DC for the Green Bay Packers, as they recently requested to interview him for the position. Would Wilson instead decide to join Macdonald in Seattle? There is a good possibility that could happen given their time together in Baltimore.

Wilson has coached in the NFL since 2012, when he first made his coaching debut with the St. Louis Rams, as a defensive quality control coach. He is most known for his ability to work with defensive backs, having been DB coach for the last nine seasons with the Rams, Jets, Eagles, and Ravens. Wilson did wonders for the Ravens passing defense in 2023. Baltimore improved from being 26th in the league in 2022 for passing yards allowed to 6th in the league in passing yards allowed in 2023.

The Seahawks have a talented young defensive backfield with Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, and Coby Bryant. If Macdonald does bring Dennard Wilson to Seattle, Wilson will have tons of young talent to work with. The Seahawks finished 21st in the league for passing yards allowed in 2023. Wilson certainly could help Seattle improve their defense backfield and take them to the next level.
