Best NFL prop bets for Rams vs. Seahawks in NFL Week 1

Geno Smith had a season high in passing yards against the Rams last year and now LA is without Jalen Ramsey, so it could be a big day for the Seahawks loaded passing attack.

Heading into Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams lost their star receiver and the Seattle Seahawks added a potential young star. Cooper Kupp will miss with a hamstring injury and the Seahawks will get rookie first-round pick Jaxon Smith-Njiba back from wrist surgery.

So with the Seahawks loaded up with weapons for Geno Smith and Matthew Stafford running out of targets in LA, we’ll be backing the Seattle offense with our prop bets. I’ll give you my three favorite props and my favorite promo from the FanDuel Sportsbook.

Best NFL prop bets for Rams vs. Seahawks

  • Geno Smith Over 250.5 Passing Yards
  • Zach Charbonnet Anytime TD
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 2.5 Receptions

Geno Smith Over 250.5 Passing Yards

Geno Smith had a breakout 2022 and he did it with a lot of deep passing. He averaged 7.49 yards per attempt and 7.67 air yards per attempt. He’s willing to throw it deep and trust his talented receivers and he’ll trust them a lot this week against the LA secondary.

The Rams have limited talent at corner with Jalen Ramsey gone and will be severely undermanned against DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. That’s one of the best wide receiver trios in the NFL and even without the latest edition, Smith threw for 367 yards against the Rams in Week 13 of last season, his season high in passing yards.

Zach Charbonnet Anytime TD

The Seahawks have a fairly crowded backfield and it seems like Kenneth Walker III will be the clear No. 1 running back. However, Walker has recently started popping up on the injury report for Seattle with a groin issue and that might crack the door open a little bit for rookie running back Zach Charbonnet to get a few touches. At 6-foot-1 215 pounds he might be the better goalline option. The Seahawks didn’t draft him to not use him at all, so I think there’s value here.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 2.5 Reception

JSN is an immensely talented receiver and if the Rams don’t have enough good corners to stop Lockett and Metcalf, then they certainly aren’t ready for JSN out of the slot. Before his wrist injury he looked great in the preseason and with Lockett and Metcalf both great downfield options, JSN may turn into a reliable receiver in the short and intermediate areas of the field.
