CBS announces broadcast team for Seahawks versus Broncos Week 1
By Lee Vowell
Time to celebrate a bit, 12s. The 2024 NFL season is creeping ever closer and is now less than two months away. The Seattle Seahawks will begin their season at Lumen Field against the Denver Broncos on September 8 at 1:05 pm PT. Fans now know who will be calling the game on the CBS broadcast, too.
Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, and Aditi Kinkhabwala will be in the broadcast booth as well as being on the sidelines for Seattle versus Denver. This will not be the number one team for CBS as that group consists of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson. To be fair, however, Seattle and Denver is not expected to be the biggest draw in Week 1.
Denver is predicted by many to be the last-place team in the AFC West. The Seahawks are expected by just as many to finish third (or worse) in the NFC West.
12s now know who they will be listening to when the Seahawks play the Broncos in Week 1
Of course, the last time the teams met was of even greater interest to NFL fans, and likely even 12s, because two years ago in Week 1 Seattle was facing former quarterback Russell Wilson for the first time. Geno Smith's team won the game, however.
Seattle will also appear on CBS in Week 3 and CBS announced that broadcast team as well. 12s get to see their favorite team play the Miami Dolphins on September 22 at 1:05 pm PT. The people calling the game will be Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, and Melanie Collins. The odd part is that in CBS' release of broadcast teams, they listed the Seahawks and Dolphins game at 1 pm ET. This would appear to be incorrect.
Seattle starts the season with what might be two relative easy games, at least comparatively speaking to other teams the Seahawks will play. After taking on Denver in the first game, the Seahawks then travel to New England to play the Patriots. The Patriots are even more of a team in transition than Seattle as they have a new head coach and a new quarterback.
Seattle could be 2-0 before the schedule starts to get quite a bit tougher. Miami is expected to be good and in Week 4 Seattle will play the Lions in Detroit. If Seattle and new head coach Mike Macdonald can start 4-1 (Seattle plays the New York Giants in Week 5) then the team could be a dangerous threat this year.
