The Seattle Seahawks have played the Detroit Lions three times in the last two years. The teams will meet again in Week 4 when Seattle travels to Detroit. One thing was certain when the teams faced off: Lots of points were going to be scored. But in Week 4, there could be a lot of changes.

For one, Seattle's defense hopefully is better than the units that have given up an average of 35 points per game to the Lions in the last three meetings. Surprisingly, the Seahawks have still won each of those games as Geno Smith and Seattle have averaged scoring 45 points a game. Jared Goff and Detroit have not beaten Seattle since 2012 as the Seahawks have won the last six meetings combined.

Another thing that is going to change in Week 4 is that the Detroit Lions will not be wearing their normal home uniforms. Instead, according to Sports Illustrated, Detroit will be wearing all-black uniforms. According to the Lions' official website, the uniform scheme is "a reinterpretation of a jersey worn in the late 1990s/early 2000s by former players including head coach Dan Campbell, it bears the Lions wordmark across the chest so whoever lines up across from us knows they’re in for a long day."

Detroit Lions will reportedly wear all-black uniforms against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4

12s can assume that Seattle will wear their normal away jerseys with white tops and navy blue numbers. These have worked out pretty well in recent games against Detroit because the Seahawks have played and beaten the Lions in Detroit in the last two meetings between the teams.

Detroit appears to want to have a bit of fun with its uniforms this year. To begin the season, the Lions wore their "blueberry" uniforms which is, as you can guess, an all-blue scheme. The Seahawks opened the season wearing their throwback uniforms but they won't be doing that in Week 4 because the color schemes would be too close to what Detroit is doing.

The next time Seattle is expected to wear the throwbacks is in Week 6 on Thursday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers. Through the first three games of the 2024 season, Seattle leads the 49ers and the rest of the NFC West by two full games. Seattle is 3-0 while San Francisco, the Arizona Cardinals, and the Los Angeles Rams are all 1-2.

Update: The Seahawks will wear all-white uniforms on Monday Night Football with the usual blue helmets.
