Is DK Metcalf playing this week? (Latest injury update for Seahawks vs. Steelers Week 17)
By Lee Vowell
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was listed on the injury report ahead of Week 17 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Metcalf was unable to practice on Thursday or Friday and was listed as questionable on the final injury report for Week 17. Head coach Pete Carroll did say in Friday's press conference that he expects Metcalf to be able to play against Pittsburgh.
Metcalf has only missed one game in his career and that was early this season in Week 7 when Metcalf missed the game with hip and rib injuries. When he was drafted in 2019, there was some concern over the potential for Metcalf to miss a bunch of games due to a neck injury he suffered in college at Ole Miss. The neck injury has played no part in Metcalf's career so far, however.
Metcalf leads the Seahawks in receiving yards (998), receiving touchdowns (8), and yards per catch (16.6) in 2023. The Steelers have a banged-up defense and will be starting Patrick Peterson at safety. Peterson has been a very good cornerback in his NFL career, but he has played safety only once before. Metcalf should be able to take advantage of the deep space in the Steelers' secondary if he can play.

DK Metcalf OVER 64.5 receiving yards
According to FanDuel, DK Metcalf currently has an over/under of 64.5 receiving yards for Week 17. All odds are subject to change, however. Due to the Steelers banged-up secondary, a mostly healthy Metcalf should have a very good game. Metcalf currently averages 71.3 yards per game in the 14 games he has played in.
