Geno Smith's recent viral post proves he is ready to explode in 2024

Sam Howell was traded to the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. The move might have appeared weird on the surface, but to be fair...Seattle needed a backup quarterback and they were able to add one who was inexpensive and had starting experience in the NFL. The team was, of course, not going to find that in the 2024 NFL draft.
Geno Smith is the QB1 in Seattle and he should be. There are many fans on social media who have voiced that one of the issues with the Seahawks is that Smith remains the starting quarterback. People have a right to their opinions, of course, but there are few statistics that can back up that claim.
In fact, the stats show that one reason Seattle has had a winning record in the last two years is because of Smith. Two years ago he led the NFC in touchdown passes and the entire league in completion percentage. Last year, he led the NFL in both game-winning drives and fourth quarter comebacks.
Geno Smith appears ready to be even better for the Seattle Seahawks in 2024
If Geno Smith isn't on the team the last two years, Seattle is a worse team. Is he a Super Bowl-winning quarterback? Maybe not. How many quarterbacks are for certain? Smith should not get blamed for Seattle's failures, specifically, because doing so overlooks the rest of the Seahawks' huge issues (like bad defense).
Smith is also clearly not taking the addition of Howell lying down. Literally. This offseason the nearly 34-year-old Smith reshaped his body and looks much more muscular now. He recently posted a workout video of himself on social media and this might serve as a warning for anyone thinking he lucked into the Seahawks' QB1 position after Russell Wilson was traded after the 2022 season.
Sure, Smith was Wilson's backup and the logical choice to ascend to be the starting quarterback if Seattle did not draft a QB early in the 2022 draft. They didn't and the job was Smith. He's been good for two years, and he seems driven to be even better in 2024 under the new offensive direction of Ryan Grubb.
Maybe Smith will fail and Howell will be the starting quarterback by the end of the year. If so, that isn't because Smith didn't try. He also likely understands that he still has several doubters and is ready to put those haters behind him.
