Coming into this Week 15 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Eagles, there wasn't a lot of optimism that Seattle would accomplish the ultimate upset at home and hand another loss to a very talented Philadelphia team.
The visiting team was expected to finally end their two-game losing streak, both of which were blowouts, and the Seahawks were considered the perfect opponent to do that. But it looks like they may have overlooked the motivation of their opponents and the passion of the 12s in attendance, as they were beaten in exciting fashion to finish this week's slate of games.
Besides the win standing out since the only believer in the Seahawks on the Monday Night Football panel was Scott Van Pelt, there were a few other parts of the game that need to be discussed, starting with the inevitable quarterback talk.
Drew Lock played like a starting quarterback on short notice
It was only earlier this season when the idea of Drew Lock taking over at quarterback for Geno Smith seemed like an outlandish idea. Smith is coming off a season where he was awarded the Comeback Player of the Year award, and although he hasn't played that similarly to that performance, he's remained a solid part of the offense week after week.
A recent injury has kept him sidelined the last two weeks, though, opening the door for another chance for Lock to prove he could be a viable QB1 in Seattle or elsewhere.
It didn't look like we would see that in this game since the offense could only score a field goal in the first half, but the final 30 minutes of gameplay was a near masterclass in creating opportunities for your team and taking advantage of them.
The teams each scored touchdowns in their first possessions of the third quarter, and after a few back-to-back punts, Seattle lessened the score deficit by adding a field goal. That's when the defense kicked it into overdrive, with Julian Love snagging the first interception of the night and forcing a punt on the Eagles' next series.
The game then came down to Seattle's offense with under two minutes to go. They needed a touchdown to take the lead, led by a quarterback with just two game-winning drives in his career. Lock was clutch on this drive, ending with an incredible 29-yard touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to put them up 20-17 with just 28 seconds remaining.
Love struck again with another interception, a highlight reel-worthy toe-tappin' on the sideline catch. This sealed the upset for Seattle, with much of it credited to Lock at a critical time in the game.
Could this mean there will be a quarterback controversy on the horizon since Lock led a team to beat the leaders in the NFC? Maybe, especially with three beatable teams left on the schedule. But it will likely come down to Smith's availability and performance upon his return to the field.

Julian Love should be a lifelong Seahawk after another standout performance
Perhaps the most incredible performance by any player on the field Monday night, Julian Love was outworking everyone with his well-timed interceptions to put his team back in a position to take over the game.
On top of his five total tackles, two passes defended, and excellent pass coverage, he recorded two interceptions that were devastating for an Eagles team in hopes of breaking their current losing streak, yet game-changers for the Seahawks, who needed the extra opportunities to walk away with a huge win.
The first takeaway came in the second half, with Love coming away with the football on a pass intended for Quez Watkins. It ended what was on track to be an Eagles scoring drive, as the Seahawks took over at their own 20-yard line and helped keep the game from getting out of reach.
His second interception was far more impressive, as a toe tap on the sideline to ensure the turnover counted with just six seconds left in the game. The play sealed the win for the home team, allowing them to get back to a .500 record and continue to the disappointing recent path the Eagles had been going down.

The defense held Jalen Hurts to season-low numbers
When a dual-threat quarterback like Jalen Hurts lines up on the opposite side of your team's defense, you know you need to prepare for anything and everything because those quarterbacks are unpredictable.
That's what Hurts has been since entering the league and what he was expected to do in this game once he was given the green light to play after remaining questionable until kickoff. But that's not exactly what happened, as the Seattle defense held him to his lowest passing yards in a game this season.
To some, that may not seem that impressive, considering who we're talking about and the fact he scored two touchdowns on the ground. However, an offense with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith is never easy to keep in check, which the Seahawks' defense managed to do.
The two receivers totaled just 106 yards combined with no touchdowns from either, a feat not many other teams in the league have been able to do. So even though their run defense wasn't A+, credit should be given where it's due, and their passing defense was impressive.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught the best touchdown of his career thus far
Other than the amazing second interception by Julian Love to seal the game, was there anything more beautiful than Jaxon Smith-Njigba's touchdown pass to take the lead?
After they were unable to take advantage of the first opportunity given to them by Julian Love's first interception, they got the ball back with under two minutes left and needed a touchdown to have a chance to win. The weather wasn't ideal, and Drew Lock doesn't have a successful history of leading teams on game-winning drives, but all the stars aligned right when they needed it most.
Starting the series on their own eight-yard line, Lock and mostly the awakening of D.K. Metcalf helped march the offense down the field. They got near the Eagles' red zone and then looked like they would have to settle for a field goal or risk it all by going for it on fourth down.
Lock then threw a bullet to JSN for a 29-yard over-the-shoulder touchdown to put the Seahawks ahead with only 28 seconds left in the game. It was by far the rookie's best catch of the season and couldn't have come at a better time.
Lock to JSN for the lead!
