The Seattle Seahawks have had themselves quite a busy offseason. Not only have they made headlines with their selfies from pro days of the top quarterbacks in this draft class, they have made some big splashes in free agency.

It all started with a rare move by the Seahawks to spend big money on free agent defensive tackle, Dre'Mont Jones. Signing him to a 3-year, $51 million deal made a true statement of how serious Seattle was when they said they needed to address their defensive line. They boosted their safety room by adding former Giant, Julian Love and of course, the move that touched the hearts of all 12s, bringing back Bobby Wagner.

By addressing those three particular positions in free agency, the Seahawks actually put themselves in a very unique position with the draft less than a month away. Entering the 2023 NFL Draft with 10 selections, 2 of which fall in the first round, Seattle can approach it in a handful of ways. They can continue to boost their defensive line. A potential trade could pop up that allows Seattle to acquire more draft capital. Or, they could select their quarterback of the future.

Seattle Seahawks 2023 Mock Draft: Addressing the present and future

The rarity of Seattle having a top 10 pick in back-to-back drafts cannot be overstated. For so long this team has been accustomed to drafting at the bottom of the 1st round. In 2022, they hit on nearly all of their draft selections. With the philopshy that Pete Caroll and John Schneider established when pairing up in Seattle, the 2023 NFL Draft grants them a chance at repeating history.

In this mock draft, which I computed through Pro Football Network's draft simulator, I have the Seahawks addressing both present and future needs. Between the 2022 draft and this upcoming draft, they can put themselves in a position similar to that of 2013; building a championship nucleus comprised of young talent on rookie contracts. More importantly, finding their QB of the future.
