Seahawks linebacker Devin Bush proves to be a classless one-year act in Week 18

In Week 18, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Devin Bush played as if he was a year-long starter and somewhat of an important player. In no way do I mean that as a compliment to Bush. He was a healthy scratch in many games and after watching his play against the Arizona Cardinals one might wonder if the issue wasn't his talent but his attitude.

On one play against the Cardinals, Bush not only looked like a dirty player but a spoiled one. Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray had scrambled to his right and was already in his slide when Bush came up and hit him. The tackle might have been fine had it been accidental but clearly Bush knew what he was doing. In doing so, he put another player in harm of being injured. Bush even was standing still after Murray started his slide and then Bush went to hit Murray.

Murray did stay down on the grass for a little bit of time while Bush was celebrating. He got into a bit of an argument with Cardinals offensive lineman Willie Hernandez and then Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner had to pull Bush away and scream at him - rightfully so - for what looked to be an intentional attempt by Bush to hurt another player. Bush's play was classless.

Seattle Seahawks made a mistake by signing Devin Bush last offseason

Bush also seemed to have zero awareness of how his play could have affected his own team. A flag was not thrown on Bush but definitely should have been. And that penalty would have given the Cardinals a first down with a little over 4 minutes left in the game and Seattle trailing by 7. Pete Carroll and Clint Hurtt should have pulled Bush out of the game immediately and never put him back in.

Seattle's defense, especially the rush defense, is awful. But one thing the team doesn't need is a player giving out cheap shots to the other team and then for that Seahawk to celebrate as if he had done something good.

Bush was only signed for one year this past offseason. He needs to not be re-signed. The Seahawks don't need players who are so clownish.
