The Seattle Seahawks knew they were likely going to be without one key defensive player and one backup tight end heading into Week 1. It is no surprise that edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu and tight end Pharaoh Brown are definitely ruled out to play against the Denver Broncos. That's the bad news.

The good news is that every other key player for Seattle is probably going to play. Tyler Lockett is listed as questionable, but he was listed as questionable many times last year and played in every game. According to what head coach Mike Macdonald told the press on Friday, Lockett is expected to play, and likely without limitation, against Denver.

Three other players have been listed on injury reports in the days ahead of the season opener - tight end Noah Fant, safety Rayshawn Jenkins, and edge rusher Dre'Mont Jones - but none were listed on the final injury report so all should play. All missed the preseason games so there might be some rust that needs to be shaken off a bit.

Out

  • Edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu
  • Tight end Pharaoh Brown

Questionable

  • Wide receiver Tyler Lockett

As far as the Broncos, they had no one listed on the injury reports at any point this week so they are completely healthy entering the game. Denver will start rookie quarterback Bo Nix against first-time head coach Macdonald's defense. That might be the most important aspect of the game and who wins that matchup could decide the winner.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 1:05 pm PT and will take place at Lumen Field in Seattle. The weather is expected to be perfect so that should not factor into the game. Seattle, according to most betting sites, is the favorite, but Week 1 games can be tricky.
