The Seahawks had a shockingly decent season last year that no one expected when they traded away Russell Wilson. Geno Smith, whose been a backup for the majority of his career, played exceptionally well and even broke the Seahawks franchise record for passing yards in a season.

With the likes of new rookies Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Zach Charbonnet, there is much optimism for the offense in 2023. However, It's still easy to be skeptical about the defense despite a great draft that added cornerback Devon Witherspoon and linebacker Derick Hall.

As we await the season's arrival, we are going to take a look at the best players that the Seahawks will face off against this season. In this edition, we will be looking at the five best quarterbacks that the Seahawks will see in 2023.

Seahawks tough test No. 1: Jared Goff - Week 2

This may come as a shock to some but Jared Goff played surprisingly well in his second season with Detroit. He threw for 4,438 yards, 29 touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions as the Lions narrowly missed out on the playoffs. Ironically, their beating Green Bay in the final week of the regular season sent Seattle to the playoffs instead.

Goff has never been a highly-touted quarterback but he has done well enough with the right supporting cast which is what the Lions are slowly building. They started their first half of the season 2-6 and went 7-2 in the final 9 weeks.

The Seahawks and Lions happened to play in a shootout last season in Week 4 with the Seahawks coming out on top 48-45. Goff completed 26 out of 39 passes for 378 yards, 4 touchdowns, and one interception.
