Seahawks best value pick No. 4: Defensive end Michael Sinclair

Sinclair was drafted in the 6th round of the 1991 draft. The Seahawks were a mediocre-to-bad team during most of the 1990s but this was more due to offensive inefficiencies than the defense being horrible. Sinclair, for instance, most played on a defensive line that also featured Cortez Kennedy. Sinclair was excellent on his own, however, even while some of the opposing offense's attention went toward Kennedy.

Sinclair played 10 seasons with Seattle and made three Pro Bowls. Those Pro Bowls were in consecutive seasons between 1996 and 1998. In those three years combined, Sinclair had 41.5 sacks, including leading the NFL with 16.5 in 1998. He also forced an astounding 6 fumbles in 1998 as well. This was one reason he was an Associated Press second-team All-Pro and received the sixth-most votes for Defensive Player of the Year.

Sinclair was a master of forcing fumbles. In his 10 seasons with the Seahawks, he forced 25. This is easily first in Seattle history and leads second-place Cliff Avril by 11. Sinclair also has the second-most sacks (73.5) in franchise history. There is little doubt that he was an impact player who deserved to play on better teams.
