The Seattle Seahawks won't look the same in Week 4 as they have in the three previous weeks of the season. The reason is that the team will be missing three more key defensive players after already not having Uchenna Nwosu yet. Nwosu will miss Week 4 as well, along with Boye Mafe, Leonard Williams, and Byron Murphy II.

Williams and Mafe have been exceedingly productive this year. Going into Week 4, both players were among the top ten in the NFL in terms of quarterback pressures. Both had significantly high run-stop win rates as well. Without Williams and Murphy, Seattle's defensive line will be thin. Without Mafe and Nwosu, Seattle's edge rush group is going to need to be productive with backups.

In the last three meetings between Seattle and the Detroit Lions - all wins by the Seahawks - Geno Smith and the offense have scored at least 37 points. They might need another extremely productive outing again on Monday Night Football to eke out a victory over the Lions. Or maybe head coach Mike Macdonald will come up with a fantastic game plan for the defense, and things won't be as bad as feared.

Seahawks and Lions inactives for Week 4 game

Seattle Seahawks inactive players for Week 4

  • Edge rusher Boye Mafe
  • Edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu
  • Linebacker Jerome Baker
  • Guard Sataoa Laumea
  • Offensive tackle Michael Jerrell
  • Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II
  • Defensive lineman Leonard Williams

Detroit Lions inactive players for Week 4

  • Wide receiver Isaiah Williams

According to FanDuel, the Lions are 4.5-point favorites against Seattle. One might be surprised that it isn't more. With Seattle missing so many key pieces of defense, one would expect the good Detroit offense to take advantage. Detroit will be missing some good players as well, just not as many as Seattle.
