The Seattle Seahawks injury reports have been pretty ugly this past week. Seattle had so many key players listed as not participating in practice, that one might have gone searching for the depth chart to see just who might be available to play in Week 3. But as bad as the injuries may have been for Seattle, the Carolina Panthers may have been in a worse position.

We already knew that Carolina would be missing starting quarterback Bryce Young (ankle), linebacker Shaq Thompson (leg) and cornerback Jaycee Horn (hamstring). That's a lot of talent for Carolina to be missing for a roster that is already a bit thin. I never want players to get hurt and wish Carolina was at full strength for there to be no excuses if the Seahawks win.

Seattle had already listed two players as out in Week 3. One is left tackle Charles Cross (toe) and the other is cornerback Coby Bryant (also a toe). Those will be two of the up to seven players who will be inactive in Week 3. Cross might be replaced by Stone Forsythe again and Forsythe was very good in Week 2. Bryant will probably be replaced by Devon Witherspoon but then there could be another issue at cornerback.

2022 Pro Bowler Riq Woolen was listed as doubtful on Friday with a chest injury. As Woolen isn't playing, that might mean Michael Jackson takes over his spot with Tre Brown at the other outside corner. Jackson was decent last year but terrible in the 2023 preseason. And once Woolen went out with his injury in Week 2, Jackson didn't play. So it could be Artie Burns who starts in place of Woolen in three cornerback sets.

One player who had a chance to return, however, is Jamal Adams. Adams hasn't played since Week 1 of last season. He could make a huge difference in the Seahawks pass rush. However, per CBS Sports, Adams is inactive against the Panthers. Another major inactive is Phil Haynes so Seattle will be without three-fifths of the starting five along the offensive line that began Week 1.
