Geno Smith needs to have a game

After literally going from zero to hero last season, Geno reminded fans of why he has been a career backup, after an MIA performance in Week 1. Geno needs to have a big game this week (well, the entire passing game does to be honest) if the Seahawks are going to win. Not to put any unnecessary pressure on Smith, but losing Week 2 and starting the season 0-2 would be a real gut punch.

We have the playmakers, we have the talent. Time to go out and deliver. If Geno can get the team up early in the game, the Seahawks can lean on the running game to control the clock, and keep the Detroit playmakers off of the field. Between DK Metcalf, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Tyler Lockett, Smith should be able to find and hit seems for big gains. We aren't exactly pushovers. We have the talent to create massive headaches for Detroit's defense.

This feels like a game where Will Dissly is going to get involved in the passing game due to his superior blocking ability and the team's penchant for running the ball. He should be on the field a lot. The top three receivers should open up coverage for Dissly or Noah Fant. Let's go Geno! You are being played like a franchise quarterback. Let's see you deliver.

Should be an exciting Week 2. I predict the Seahawks will win 27-24.
