Seahawks might have real issues in Week 3 based on Thursday injury report
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks are 2-0 to begin the 2024 season and after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2, Seattle seemed to be getting a bit of a break in Week 3. No one wants Tagovailoa to be injured, of course, especially with a brain injury, but Seattle is also trying to win football games. No Tagovailoa might make that easier.
Instead, Seattle opened practice ahead of the Dolphins game missing a lot of players. Sure, maybe some players were being kept out simply to rest and overcome minor injuries, but the number of players missing Wednesday's practice was alarming. Nine players set out, including receiver DK Metcalf.
Laken Tomlinson did miss practice, but only to rest. At least that one did not involve an injury.
Seahawks Thursday injury report ahead of Week 3 only slightly better than Wednesday's report
We are only two games into the season and possibly the Seahawks are just being cautious. New head coach Mike Macdonald is definitely tight-lipped about how badly players might be hurt. Unlike former head coach Pete Carroll who was a bit more open about injuries, Macdonald is more likely to say nothing at all or simply imply, "We will see."
Thursday's injury report was a bit better, though there are still concerns. Seattle could not run the ball in Week 2 without Kenneth Walker III and he is looking more and more doubtful for Week 3 as well. He missed practice for the second straight day. Uchenna Nwosu did as well so he is probably out again versus the Dolphins.
