What you need to know about Seattle Seahawks mock game at Football Fest on Friday
By Lee Vowell
We are really close to the Seattle Seahawks playing their first preseason game of 2023. One week from Thursday, Seattle will play the Minnesota Vikings at 7 pm PT at Lumen Field. But on Friday, 12s will get to see their favorite team play a mock game and we will probably learn even more about how the coaching staff is viewing the team than what we can gather from the first preseason game.
We won't see a lot of starters play many snaps in preseason. There is no reason to risk players to being injured in games that don't matter. While it would be nice to see Seattle go undefeated during the preseason as Seattle winning every game ever is the ideal scenario, if the team loses all its preseason games, it doesn't matter.
In preseason games, we will watch a bunch of players trying to earn roster spots on the active 53-man roster. We won't see a lot of guys we can already assume are on the roster. But in Friday's mock game, which is part of a larger event called Football Fest, 12s will see the starters and that's part of the fun.
All you need to know about the Seattle Seahawks 2023 mock game
The Seahawks mock game is part of a larger thing called Football Fest. While 12s can buy tickets to see the game at Lumen Field, if you can go you should go to enjoy stuff beyond just the glorified scrimmage. One thing 12s won't see is mock game that looks anything like a real game, but instead the offense and defense put into situations they must find a way to learn from. But here's what else you need to know about the mock game.
When is the Seahawks 2023 mock game?
The "game" will begin around 5:20 pm PT on Friday, August 4th. Gates for fans will open at 4 pm PT, so arrive before that, obviously. Or take public transportation and save yourself from having to find a parking spot near the stadium.
Where is the Seahawks mock game?
The practice, because that's really what it is, will be held at Lumen Field. If you've never been to a real game, this is a good time to walk around the stadium and visit all the restaurants and shops there. There's tons of things to do besides just watch football.
What else is there to do besides watch football?
Generally speaking, you have to work and talk to friends and family and shop and...Oh, that question was about the mock game. Well, at the practice at Lumen Field that begins at 5:20 pm PT and gates open at 4 pm PT, there will be food trucks and some live music at Muckleshoot Heritage Plaza. Plus, stay after the practice for player autographs! (Just be prepared to stand in line for a long time for someone like Geno Smith.)
