Picks and predictions for Seahawks versus Cowboys

Based on statistics only, Week 13's matchup between the Cowboys and Seattle doesn't look like a pretty one for 12s. Offensively, the Cowboys are fifth in yards-per-play offensively at 5.8 while Seattle is 14th at 5.3. Dallas leads the league in points per game at 31.5 while Seattle is 19th at 20.8. Dallas also leads the league in point differential at +162 while Seattle sits at -20.

Defensively, things are even more bleak. Dallas is fourth in sacks with 37 and leads the league in fewest missed tackles (35). Seattle has the 11th most missed tackles at 71. The Cowboys are fourth in points allowed per game at 18.8 while Seattle is 22nd at 22.6. But the news is not all bad.

Dallas has played some pretty atrocious teams. They have not beaten a team with a winning record and they lost to the Arizona Cardinals 28-16. Dallas also got plastered by the San Francisco 49ers 42-10. While Dallas has not lost at home, they certainly are not unbeatable. Seattle just needs to play clean football and not get way down early in the game.

I do think Dallas wins, however, because the Seahawks are not playing well, especially offensively. I am not sure how the offense suddenly comes to life against a good Cowboys defense. I think the Cowboys will win 34-10. Here is what others are predicting.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Cowboys 31 Seattle 20
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Cowboys 27 Seattle 20
Bob Condotta, Seattle Times: Cowboys 31 Seattle 16
Adam Jude, Seattle Times: Cowboys 31 Seattle 20
Matt Calkins, Seattle Times: Cowboys 28 Seattle 20
Sayre Bedinger, NFL Spin Zone: Cowboys 31 Seahawks 23
