The Seattle Seahawks are now 2-1 with a very winnable game against the New York Giants in Week 4. That would make the team 3-1 ahead of the Week 5 bye week for Seattle. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, right?

That's what happened ahead on Week 1. Many of use thought Seattle was going to begin their season with a defeat of the Los Agenesl Rams and start down the path of another postseason berth. Instead, the Rams stomped on the Seahawks at Lumen Field.

So before we assume Seattle will be 3-1, let's take a step back and reflect. We should take a deep breath. And we should reflect on what happened after Week 3 and what is happening in the now.

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet goes full beast mode in Week 3

No, Charbonnet did not run for over 100 yards or score multiple touchdowns. That will all come in time. Instead, Charbonnet had a career-high 9 carries and a career-high 46 yards. I realize using the term "career-high" for someone who has only played three games seems silly, but it's still a fact. And the secret unsaid is that Charbonnet has improved each week and that's the point.

But against the Panthers, Charbonnet didn't just run hard and straight to the line of scrimmage, the thunder to fellow RB Kenneth Walker's outside speed lightning, but he exploded on a poor Panther who attempted to tackle him near the goal line. Charbonnet didn't just punish Sam Franklin for having the audacity to stop him, but he pushed Franklin potentially into T-Mobile Field across the street. (Maybe the Seattle Mariners can use Franklin as a runner because the Mariners need the help currently.)

On the play, Charbonnet was forced out of bounds at the 2-yard line so I guess Franklin did his job and Charbonnet could have potentially scored had he cut his run inside and run Franklin over at the goal line, but run Franklin over he did. Let's hope we see many more runs by Charbonnet like that in the future, only he scores instead of runs out of bounds.

Pete Carroll praises the 12s

Pete Carroll would like to praise you...praise you...praise you like he should. In other words, Carroll should go all Fatboy Slim on the 12s. Because the 12s absolutely affected the outcome of Week 3 between the Seahawks and Panthers. This was more the case in the second half after Seattle got a bit of a lead and the Panthers were forced to pass even more and Carolina ended up with 8 false starts because many times they simply couldn't hear the snap because of the crowd at Lumen Field.

In the post-game press conference, Carroll told reporters, "One of the most obvious things that happened today was feeling the 12s. God, what a great impact they had on this game. These guys had eight false starts in this game and that's not us. We had nothing to do with that. They can't get coordinated because of the noise. What a great factor. It felt like what it feels like to be here at Lumen. That was a thrill."

And he is right. The odd thing is that 12s did seem louder than normal. Was it the atmospheric pressure over the Seattle area compressing the noise? Was is that after Week 1 when 12s had nothing to cheer for they got to cheer for a team that looked a lot more like the 2022 version of the Seahawks than the one they got to see in Week 1? Or maybe the noise was just 12s being 12s.

Either way, pat yourself on the back, 12s. You made a huge difference in Week 3. Those false starts don't happen on their own most of the time. The Panthers offensive tackles couldn't hear you and it showed. Too bad we can't simply have 12s on the field on third down because an opposing team picking up most of their third down attempts might be much more difficult.

The return of Jamal Adams

Jamal Adams was this close to playing in Week 3. He practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday but then went back to being only a partial participant on Friday. Maybe the Seahawks just didn't want to give 12s the implication that Adams would actually play against a Panthers team that didn't have many great receivers. Basically, Jamal Adams wasn't needed in Week 3.

Heck, he might not even be needed in Week 4 against the New York Giants who also don't have a bunch of great receivers. But the game is in New York and on Monday Night Football. That's important as Jamal Adams used to play for the New York Jets and the Giants fans live in the same land as Jets fans and Adams might be extra-motivated to show how great he can be for several reasons.

Here are three. 1) The game is in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football. 2) The game is in New York in front of Jets fans dressed as Giants fans. 3) Jamal Adams wants to show the 2022 rookies (who didn't see him play much as he was injured in Week 1 last year) and the 2023 class that he is an extremely talented and impactful player.

Pete Carroll said Jamal Adams will be back in Week 4 as long as nothing weird happens in practice this week. The Giants might be without Saquon Barkley again due to an ankle injury so New York might throw a bit more. Adams should help with the pass rush. But let's see how creative Seattle is in using the safety.
