Geno Smith and Quandre Diggs have no answers to Seahawks recent issues

One would like to hear the players of the losing team of a blowout saying post-game, "This is what we did wrong..." But since the Seahawks have been blown out three times in 2023, any reasons given might seem like falsehoods. Seattle apparently just doesn't know what exactly is going wrong, and that is not a good place to be.

As far as Geno Smith post-game, he said the following: "There is no excuse for it, there is no words I can say that will make it better. What needs to be done is we need to work harder. We need to find a way." Work harder, huh? You would think the team already works hard. That kind of answer really screams, "I do not know the answer."

As far as safety Quandre Diggs answer to what is ailing Seattle, his answer was no better. In fact, Diggs doesn't seem to know how to fix himself. He is having a terrible year overall, and in Week 12 he missed three of his 11 tackle attempts and allowed 3 completions when he targeted 4 times. That cannot happen for a safety. He has a cap hit of $21,262,500 in 2024 and a dead cap of $10,262,500 so if Seattle releases him, the team saves $11 million. Diggs is currently graded as 74th among NFL safeties this season, per Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

Post-game, Diggs said of the loss to the 49ers, "The 49ers are) a great team. What do you expect? Those guys have been really good for a long time." That sure sounds defeatist, and sounds like the kind of talk where a player expects to lose to the same team in two weeks.
