The NFL news never really stops. We might be post-NFL draft but we are also pre-2023 schedule release. Plus, the newest Seattle Seahawks are now in town so it's a good time.

But not all the Seahawks news is happy. Free agency is still going on and Seattle could still have players sign. They definitely will have players leave, however. I say that because a former son has changed locations and gone back east.

Before I get into the football news, however, isn't it great to be a Seattle sports fan? The Mariners are playing (underperforming to expectations, sure, but it's early in the season), and the Kraken are still playing. Heck, after defeating the Colorado Avalanche in round one, anything can happen. But now to the football news.

Seattle Seahawks lose Poona Ford to the Bills

Poona was a good player for most of his Seattle career. He never quite developed into the player the Seahawks needed - that is, an interior defensive lineman who could supply somewhat consistent pass rush - but maybe Ford just isn't that player. He is good at stopping the run, however.

At least, he was until 2022 when the entire defensive line struggled to stop the run (except for Al Woods). Ford had arguably his worst season and this helped lead the way to Seattle remaking almost all of its D-line. Ford just wasn't a good fit in what Seattle wanted to do when it moved to more of a 3-4 base last season.

Ford joins the Bills but numbers have not yet been announced. He will be on a one-year deal. Let's hope Ford does well and earns a longer contract thereafter.

Seahawks may have gotten a UDFA steal

CBS Sports ranked its top ten unrestricted free agents by talent and situation. According to the site, Seattle got the potentially best player. Wide receiver Matt Landers signed with Seattle after bouncing around a bit in college. Landers played at three schools/ He started at Georgia, went to Toledo for a season, and then went to Arkansas for 2022.

The 6'5" and 200-pound Landers lead Arkansas in receiving this season with 901 yards on 47 receptions. He went to the combine and ran a 4.37 40-yard dash and had a vertical of 37". It is a bit odd with his size and speed that he wasn't chosen. He would give a deep threat but also a red-zone weapon as well.
