Seahawks WR battle - Matt Landers vs. Easop Winston Jr. vs. Cade Johnson

I don't have Jake Bobo here because I am assuming he has a spot on the active 53-man roster at this point. Bobo has not only created openings for him to catch the ball, but he also seems to block well. Carroll will absolutely love that part of Bobo's game. Oh, and he has made a couple of great plays on special teams as well.

So assuming that Jake Bobo is WR4 (and he might likely be WR3 in Week 1 of the regular season if Jaxon Smith-Njigba misses the game)), then Seattle could have battles at two more receiver spots. Cade Johnson is a bit more well-known by the Seahawks coaching staff because he's been in the program for a year. Winston and Landers are new to the team. Each player has had pretty decent games in preseason so far as well.

But both Winston and Landers have also battled injuries in training camp and preseason (which Seattle receiver hasn't?), but both should play against Green Bay. Landers has ridiculous athletic ability. He has run a 4.37 40 and he can jump higher than most people you know. He is also 6'4" and 200 pounds. So why with all that raw ability is he not a star player? Well, his technique isn't good for one.

Winston simply doesn't seem to sell himself very well. Seattle has already cut him when they released him in April after a short stint with the team. Winston has been hanging around trying to get an NFL job since he went undrafted in 2020. So if Winston is out, Landers could win himself a job with a great showing against the Packers.
