Seahawks game-by-game predictions Weeks 8 and 9

Seattle at home versus the Cleveland Browns, Week 8 at 1:05 pm PT

Cleveland isn't a bad team, but you might not like their quarterback for many reasons. They did seem to underperform in 2022, but this may have been due to the quarterback you may or may not like missing the first part of the season after being suspended. It could be with a full training camp, Cleveland's offense is better.

That said, the Browns could test the Seahawks' run defense and see if Seattle's run defense is actually better in 2023. Cleveland has several good backs that could make it tough on Seattle's D. But Seattle also should have a good run game and that might make it tough on the Browns. Cleveland wins, though, 27-24.

Seattle at the Baltimore Ravens, Week 9 at 10 am PT

This could be a matchup of two playoff teams. The Ravens struggled a bunch after Lamar Jackson was injured (once again) during 2022, but if he is healthy he simply transforms Baltimore from a mediocre team to a very dangerous one. Maybe Jackson struggles a bit in the playoffs, but this isn't the playoffs and this is Jackson at home.

This should be a good game for Geno Smith and the Seahawks receivers, however. Baltimore doesn't have a great pass rush and their cornerbacks aren't fantastic. If Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are all healthy, Seattle should score some points. This will end up being a high-scoring loss for Seattle, however, 38-31.
