The Seattle Seahawks fell just short of the NFL Playoffs in 2023, finishing 9-8 on the season and one spot out of an NFC Wild Card spot.

The disappointing end to the season spelled the end of the Pete Carrol era in Seattle and the former defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, Mike Macdonald, has taken over as the new head coach for the Seahawks.

If you were hoping the change at head coach would mean the Seahawks would be re-tooled and ready to make a playoff run in 2024, think again. There are still plenty of questions to answer in Seattle.

Is Geno Smith the answer at quarterback moving forward? Can they fix their defense this offseason? Do they have the ability to compete with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West?

Oddsmakers' answers to those questions aren't promising. Odds to win Super Bowl 59 have been released and you have to look far down the list to find the Seahawks. Let's take a look:

Seahawks' odds to win Super Bowl in 2025

The Seahawks odds to win Super Bowl 59 at FanDuel Sportsbook sit at +7500. If you translate those odds to implied probability, they have a 1.32% chance of lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy. A $100 bet on them would win your a profit of $7,500 if they're able to achieve the feat.

At +7500, the Seahawks are tied for the 21st longest odds to win it all, along side the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Only the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers have longer odds out of the NFC.

The reason for the long odds have to be related to the Seahawks likely entering a bit of a rebuild now with Carroll now longer the head coach of the team. Geno Smith has been good, but not great, at quarterback for them and deciding what to do at the quarterback position will play a big role in their 2024 campaign.

Their defense also left a lot to be desired in 2023. The Seahawks ranks 24th in both opponent yards per play and opponent points per game.

It doesn't help their chances that they have to compete with the best team in the NFC, the 49ers, for a division title. That leaves them with likely just a wild card berth as their only chance to make it into the playoffs.

Seattle fans should probably dull their expectations for the upcoming season.
