Three Seattle Seahawks who will decide the outcome of the game in Week 1
Seahawks player to watch No. 3 - Bobby Wagner
Sunday will be the first time Seahawks fans will have the chance to see Bobby Wagner back in a Seahawks uniform. An intriguing storyline this Sunday will be Wagner going against his former team. Due to the Rams desperate need to trim their incredibly high salary cap, Wagner was a cap casualty for them in free agency. With the help of Quandre Diggs, the Seahawks were able to lure Wagner back to Seattle signing him to a one-year $5.5 million deal.
Bobby Wagner will once again be quarterbacking the Seahawks defense. Having played with the Rams in 2022, he will bring plenty of insight into what LA will want to run on Sunday. One cannot help but think Wagner has a bit of revenge on his mind for the way LA treated him after signing Wagner to a five-year $50 million contract back in 2022.
The Seahawks can utilize Bobby's ability as a sure tackler to help lift a defense that was one of the worst in run defense a year ago. The Rams rushed for 146 yards against the Seahawks the last time these two teams met. Bobby Wagner led the Rams in tackles last season with 140 combined tackles. His strengths as a run-stopper will be a powerful asset both in Sunday's game and throughout the 2023 season.
