Seattle Seahawks inactives list for Week 14 game against San Francisco 49ers

Who is not playing for Seattle on Sunday?

The Seattle Seahawks have not had a lot of players be lost to injury in 2023, but the players who have missed time have been key guys. The defense definitely is playing worse since edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu was lost to a torn pec muscle in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, for instance. The offensive line struggled for much of the time right tackle Abraham Lucas was missing after Week 1. Will some key players be missing in Week 14, though?

We knew going into the matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday that while no Seahawks players had been ruled out and zero players were listed as doubtful, seven players were listed as questionable. This included quarterback Geno Smith who was fine in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys when Seattle scored 35 points, but during the week of practice ahead of the 49ers game, Smith injured his groin at some point.

Linebacker Jordyn Brooks hurt his ankle against the Cowboys and had to leave the game. He only participated in a limited fashion once before the 49ers game and missed two other practices. San Francisco is a team that likes to use a lot of motion and speed, of course.

Who is out for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14?

Playing Brooks against San Francisco, specifically, would seem like a mistake as Brooks would be required to cut and run on his ankle quite a bit. Holding Brooks out for at least one week always made more sense.

San Francisco had already ruled three players out before the Seahawks game. This included defensive tackle Arik Armstead, receiver/returner Ray-Ray McCloud, and tight end Ross Dwelley. The 49ers have a deep defensive front, but maybe - just maybe - the Seahawks running backs can do a bit of damage up the middle since Armstead will be missing.
