Player to Watch No. 3 - Cornerback Devon Witherspoon

Devon Witherspoon has been playing well in his first two games as an NFL corner. He came up with great pass deflections and ran all over the field making plays. He has racked up a total of 16 tackles (10 of which were solos) with three pass defenses against both the Lions and Panthers. His production and youthful energy have been much needed for a Seahawks secondary that at times has had its share of struggles this season.

Witherspoon is certainly showing why the Seahawks decided to draft him with the fifth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. His play-making ability and athleticism are remarkable for a rookie corner.

Witherspoon has been able to fill in nicely for Riq Woolen who has missed time each of the last two games with a chest injury. When the Seahawks secondary is fully healthy, it will be interesting to see how Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, Jamal Adams, Julian Love, Coby Bryant and Quandre Diggs play together.

There is a possibility all of them could be ready to go for Monday night's game against the Giants. Which could be an exciting and interesting development for this week's game. A healthy Seahawks secondary could certainly benefit a Seahawks defense which has allowed the second-most passing this season. Witherspoon has been doing his part to improve that and should receive reinforcements soon. A fully healthy Seahawks secondary with Devon Witherspoon would be a welcome sign for the Seahawks come Monday.
