The Seahawks' 2024 season begins on Sunday, September 8 when Seattle plays the Denver Broncos at Lumen Field. Seattle is the favorite, according to various betting sites, but that might have something to do with Seattle being the home team which usually gets a few points as far as the point spread.

Seattle has a new head coach, Mike Macdonald. This will be the first time that Macdonald has been a head coach of an official game in his life. Prior to coming to Seattle, he was a defensive coach in the NFL (mostly) for most of a decade. Most recently, he was the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens in the last two seasons.

But as Deion Sanders likes to say, or maybe this is a paraphrase, "If you look good, you play good." 12s will love what Seattle is wearing in Week 1. Let's just hope it goes better than the last time Seattle worse these uniforms.

What jerseys are the Seahawks wearing versus the Broncos in Week 1?

The Seahawks will be wearing their 1990s throwback jerseys in the season opener. The team first introduced these uniforms last season. Seattle won the first time they wore the jerseys against the Cleveland Browns. Then, the Seahawks lost their next game wearing the uniforms when they traveled to Dallas and lost to the Cowboys.

Seattle certainly will not want to start a trend where they wear their fan-favorite uniforms but lose. That would likely distract from the popularity of the jerseys, right? "Oh, sure. They look good, but we know they are going to lose because they are wearing the throwbacks." No one wants that.

Plus, no one wants to have Mike Macdonald start his career with a loss, especially against the Broncos. Or in Week 2 against the poor New England Patriots. Macdonald has, proverbially speaking, big shoes to fill as Seattle moved on from Pete Carroll this offseason and replaced Carroll with Macdonald.

The coaches, of course, won't be wearing throwback jerseys, however. They won't be wearing jerseys at all. Macdonald will likely be wearing a throwback cap.
