The Seattle Seahawks have emerged as one of the best teams in the NFL here in 2025, and they are in a position to make the playoffs this year after finishing 10-7 last year and being on the outside. The biggest move this team made in the offseason was swapping Geno Smith for Sam Darnold.
Smith has been one of the three worst starting QBs in the NFL this year, and Darnold has continued to play well after a breakout campaign in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings. With five games remaining, Seattle might truly have to win out to capture the NFC West title, but another win or two likely gets them into the playoffs.
Let's predict the team's next five games after a 9-3 start in 2025.
Predicting the Seahawks' next three games after a stellar 9-3 start in the 2025 NFL Season
Week 14 @ Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are probably going to get walloped in this one, as the Seattle Seahawks, as most of us know, are nearly unbeatable in their away games. They have played 14 of these games in the Mike Macdonald era and have won 12 of them. The Falcons also sport one of the worst teams in the NFL and are starting a backup QB in Kirk Cousins, who won't be able to evade any pressure the Seahawks bring.
There really isn't much of a path here for the Seahawks to lose this game. It should be a blowout.
Prediction: Seahawks win 35-20
Week 15 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Seattle returns home to face the Indianapolis Colts in what could be a huge, league-altering game for Indy. The Colts are seeing their AFC South lead totally disappear after a strong 7-1 start. They've lost three of four games, and Daniel Jones is reverting back to the New York Giants' Jones we unfortunately saw for so many seasons.
The Seahawks are a below .500 team playing at home in the Mike Macdonald era, but they even up that record in Week 15, as Jones has played flustered lately and doesn't really stoke fear into opposing defenses at this point. He's also playing through a fractured leg, so his mobility is limited.
Prediction: Seahawks win 27-20
Week 16 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Seattle lost to Los Angeles earlier in the season, but still having a chance to win despite Sam Darnold tossing four interceptions was notable. In my eyes, there is simply no way they win the division this year if they get swept by the Rams. However, as we just mentioned, Seattle struggles at home, and with LA still being one of the best teams in football, this could get ugly.
Sam Darnold also tends to collapse in big games. He did it at the end of the year with the Minnesota Vikings and did it a few weeks ago against the Rams. It seems to be a trend with the veteran QB. LA wins this one.
Prediction: Rams win 24-21
