Seattle Seahawks fans are still riding high following their dominant Super Bowl LX victory, and rightfully so; they deserve to stick their chest out. Enjoy it while it lasts, because the rest of the NFL is gunning for them.
Things move extremely quickly in this league. Celebrating too long and hard could come back to haunt them, so time is of the essence for Seahawks general manager John Schneider and Co. Seattle is now in title-defense mode, whether they like it or not.
The Seahawks must hit the ground running this offseason, starting with free agency. What better way to do that than reuniting with a franchise legend/all-time great who's still contributing at a high level, like linebacker Bobby Wagner?
FOX Sports' Greg Auman ranked his top 100 players who are set to hit the open market in March and their potential fits. He identified Seattle as a logical destination for Wagner, and it's hard to disagree.
Seahawks fans will love NFL reporter naming Seattle as a potential fit for Bobby Wagner
Wagner, who turns 36 in June, comes in at No. 59 on the list. He spent the past two years with the Washington Commanders, though 11 of his first 12 pro seasons were with the Seahawks. Citing his age, coaching turmoil in D.C., and connection to Seattle, which is evidently built to contend, Auman does some basic dot-connecting.
However, it's also worth noting that the Seahawks aren't the only prospective landing spot mentioned for Wagner. Auman also names Seattle's NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams.
"A new [defensive] coordinator for the Commanders could mean Wagner is signing elsewhere, a future Hall of Famer still making plays on a consistent basis," Auman wrote. "Could he return to the Seahawks or Rams and try to chase a second ring on the way out?"
We've seen Wagner, a Los Angeles native, choose the Rams over the Seahawks once before, so it's not far-fetched whatsoever. His hometown ties will always be there, but the chance to chase history in Seattle won't be, which is a strong selling point.
In 2025, Wagner continued to defy Father Time and operate as an elite field general. He slotted in as PFF's seventh-highest-graded linebacker (79.3), specifically thriving as a run-stopper and pass-rusher. The 11-time All-Pro recorded 162 tackles (eight for loss), nine quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, and four pass deflections across 17 games.
