Richard Sherman and Cooper Kupp couldn't have been clearer about Taylor Swift

The NFL is a brotherhood. While players might sometimes get a bit heated with others, what is clear is that off the field, people like Seattle Seahawks icon Richard Sherman and current player Cooper Kupp can be friends with people like Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his new wife, Taylor Swift.

Fans know they all get along because two of the more than one thousand people who attended Kelce and Swift's wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday were Sherman and Kupp. Kupp attended with his wife, Anna.

Both of the players attached to the Seahawks were captured in photos by Page Six, and they were far from the only sports figures, or football players specifically, to be at the wedding. Many, of course, were from the Kansas City Chiefs, including head coach Andy Reid.

The Seahawks representatives weren't the only non-Chiefs to be at the event, though. Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was there, for instance. One can assume, if they were at all in the same proximity, that Kupp and Stafford talked. They played together for several years with the Rams.

One could argue that Richard Sherman fits as a representative of the San Francisco 49ers, since he played for the team for several years after leaving the Seahawks, but for our purposes here, we will forget that last part happened.

After all, if Sherman is fortunate to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day, and he certainly should be, the hope is that he will basically be remembered as having played successful football in the Pacific Northwest. He won a Super Bowl with Seattle, and he chose to still live in the area after he stopped playing for the team.

Cooper Kupp, of course, grew up in the eastern part of the state of Washington, so he was a 12 long before he ever played for the team. Thankfully, he was fortunate to come back home in 2025 and win a title in his first season with the team. Maybe he will get another in year two as well.

Neither Sherman nor Kupp officiated the wedding, however. Either could have, it seems, in New York state, but those duties went to a person who is a close follower of sports. Actor Adam Sandler, who played the sport in The Longest Yard, is the person who joined Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift together in marriage.
