Of course. It had to be Pete Carroll.

The past few days have been quite the ride for the Seattle Seahawks, as their wide receiver room is getting completely flipped upside down, or so it seems.

On the same day the Seahawks announced they were going to release Tyler Lockett after 10 seasons, there was also another big report to surface.

Star wideout DK Metcalf requested a trade out of Seattle, thus putting the Seahawks in a tough predicament. Not only are they going to be without Lockett, but another one of their top weapons no longer wants to play in Seattle.

It appears as though this could be the Jaxon Smith-Njigba show, for the time being.

After Metcalf requested a trade, information started to leak in terms of what they would desire in return, should they deal their star wide receiver. And, as for where Metcalf could land? The Seahawks are reportedly receiving interest from several teams, but one in particular stands out.

The Las Vegas Raiders have checked in on a DK Metcalf trade

According to ESPN Seahawks reporter Brady Henderson, the Las Vegas Raiders have reached out to the Seahawks about Metcalf.

"The Las Vegas Raiders are among the teams the Seahawks have talked to about a possible Metcalf trade, a source told ESPN," Henderson wrote.

This is, of course, intriguing because of Pete Carroll being the new Raiders head coach. Having spent so long with Seattle before a difficult breakup, Carroll could now be getting a bit of revenge by reuniting with Metcalf whom he previously coached.

After the Raiders dealt Davante Adams last year, that left them mainly with Jakobi Meyers and some third-tier wide receivers. Adding a player like Metcalf would be a major upgrade for their offense.

It would also be a big story in Seattle thanks to Carroll and Metcalf uniting once again.

Seahawks fans might feel some type of way about a Metcalf-Raiders trade if it were to happen. It's notable because this is the first confirmed team we've seen having talked to the Seahawks about a deal.

Many teams have had conversations, but the Raiders are the one and only team written specifically into this report, so it means something.
