Seattle Seahawks fans have to hope nothing happens to right tackle Michael Jerrell and left tackle Charles Cross in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons. There is simply no offensive tackle to fill their void should they be hurt. Jerrell is starting because Stone Forsythe hurt his hand, and Seattle did not elevate Jason Peters for the game.

Peters being left on the practice squad is an odd move. The 42-year-old isn't anywhere close to the player he once was, but he at least could play as needed. Seattle must have faith that Cross and Jerrell are indestructible. The situation was already dire because Jerrell has never played a down in the NFL. Should Jerrell get hurt, a tight end might have to play his spot.

Of course, no team deserves what has happened to Seattle at the right tackle spot this year. Presumed starter Abe Lucas hasn't returned from offseason knee surgery, and his backup, George Fant, was injured in Week 1 and has not been able to play since. Now, Seattle is down to its fourth-string right tackle since Forsythe has gotten hurt as well.

According to FanDuel, Atlanta is a 3-point favorite against Seattle. One might be surprised that the spread is not even more since Seattle is dealing with many more key injuries than the Falcons. This is especially true in the secondary and along the offensive line. The Seahawks might simply have to hope to outscore the Falcons, and that means Michael Jerrell needs to protect Geno Smith as if Jerrell is a ten-year veteran.
