Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is steaming through the 2025 NFL draft. Last year, in his first year as the final roster decision maker for Seattle, the draft was a bit rough. 12s are still waiting to see who might break out from the group. This year is a different story.

Schneider took arguably the best interior offensive lineman in the draft at pick 18 when the team chose Grey Zabel. Schneider traded up from pick 52 to 35 in the second round and grabbed Kam Chancellor clone Nick Emmanwori. Seattle's third pick was tight end Elijah Arroyo, who should be a great fit in offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's system.

With the team's last pick of Day 2, the one they received from the Las Vegas Raiders when the Seahawks shipped quarterback Geno Smith to them this offseason, Schneider took Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

That seems perfectly fitting as Seattle traded a quarterback and got a quarterback back in return. And while the Seahawks now have four quarterbacks, plus Jaren Hall, on the roster, Sam Howell is likely to be traded or released. Kubiak has also kept three quarterbacks on the roster at times, so the Seahawks will likely do this in 2025.

Milroe is a fantastic runner, but needs work on his accuracy. Taking him in the third round is a win because he won't be expected to start right away. He can sit and learn behind Sam Darnold for at least a season. Ultimately, Milroe might end up being the steal of the draft, not just for the Seahawks, but for everyone.

The good part for Seahawks fans is that Schneider can continue his run on Day 3. Seattle has five more picks, with two of them in the fifth round. Seattle has found gold in that round before by taking players such as Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, and Riq Woolen. With the GM being on a hot streak, there is no reason to think Schneider won't find more gems in the round in 2025.
