The Seattle Seahawks are 3-1 through the first four games of 2026, but they likely should be 4-0. The Week 3 loss to the Washington Commanders, who were playing with a backup quarterback, is going to sting for a while.
What would help Seattle is if some of the players hanging on to the roster played better. One of the keys to the title run last season was that the depth pieces stepped up when needed. That has only happened in spots so far this year, such as with safety Rodney Thomas II.
The positive part is that most of the season lies ahead. Even those few players who might have underperformed so far have time to turn their seasons around.
These Seattle Seahawks could drop down the depth chart or be part of roster cuts after this season
Running back George Holani
Holani has had chances to run the ball this season. In fact, 22 times -- the same amount as he had in all of last season. Unfortunately, he has only averaged 3.1 yards per carry, and Emanuel Wilson has completely outplayed him, stepping in for injured Jadarian Price. What's worse is that Holani has given up six pressures, including two sacks, in pass protection. That alone should get him benched.
Fullback Brady Russell
Russell has become the full-time fullback due to Robbie Ouzts' neck injury before the season. If and when Ouzts comes back is unknown, but the team might need to look at picking up a veteran to take Russell's spot. He's not been productive in run blocking, and he's been atrocious at protecting the quarterback. He might be too undersized for the position he is playing.
Edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr.
The veteran free agent signee still hasn't produced much. He has four total quarterback pressures, and that was supposed to be the strength of his game, but no sacks. He's also had one tackle but missed another. It is telling that he has only seen 60 reps, while the other top three edge rushers (Uchenna Nwo, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Derick Hall) have all seen at least 129.
Right guard Anthony Bradford
Bradford is currently on injured reserve with a knee issue, but he is due to come off IR in Week 6. Whether he is fit enough to do so isn't known. In 28 pass-block reps, he allowed three pressures. To make matters worse for him, his replacements, Christian Haynes and Beau Stephens (especially rookie Stephens), have been better in pass protection than Bradford.
Tight end Eric Saubert
Saubert was partly kept on the roster because he had played with the San Francisco 49ers when Brian Fleury, the Seattle Seahawks' new offensive coordinator, was coaching in San Fran. But Saubert hasn't performed well this season and is one of four tight ends on the roster. Therefore, he could be expendable.
He's been an iffy blocker, caught two passes for three yards (one was a touchdown), and fumbled once. Seattle could acquire another TE who could be more valuable to the overall scheme.
