Before the Seattle Seahawks began training camp this year, they added to their secondary when they signed former Oregon Ducks cornerback Kam Alexander. After Alexander participated in minicamp with both the Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons, he got his shot.

Alexander went undrafted earlier this year and had to wait it out before he got his first legitimate shot and signed with Seattle. Unfortunately, the Seahawks released him just last week and, just like that, he was on the hunt for another job to try and kickstart his pro career.

That chance has now come for Alexander, who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kam Alexander, a former Seahawks undrafted experiment, gets another chance in Pittsburgh

Alexander came to the Seahawks out of Oregon after just one season with the Ducks. He played sparingly in 2024 and tallied only four total tackles, but did come up with an interception. Alexander's expectations were probably higher as he joined the Ducks because he was a force the year prior at UTSA.

In 2023, Alexander totaled a whopping 15 pass breakups to go with two interceptions and two tackles for loss. Transitioning to Oregon didn't go as planned, but that didn't stop him from getting a chance at playing in the NFL.

He earned some valuable practice reps with the Seahawks, and now he gets the opportunity to learn from the likes of one of the best in the business.

The Steelers made the move to acquire Jalen Ramsey from the Miami Dolphins earlier in the offseason, and if Alexander can be in Ramsey's ear as much as possible in whatever time he has with the Steelers, that'd be a huge lift to getting his career going.

For now, in Seattle, the Seahawks' cornerback room looked pretty stout without Alexander. So, allowing him to find another team was in the best interest of both sides. Hopefully, he's able to stick in Pittsburgh and make a name for himself.
