The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions yet again. This time, with a convincing victory against the New England Patriots. Seattle's defense was dominant, its special teams were overwhelming, and the offense was led by a running back that many wanted to replace with Zach Charbonnet before the season.

Kenneth Walker was the Seahawks' offense for much of the first part of the game. While the Pats' pass rush was disrupting quarterback Sam Darnold and the passing attack, Walker was breaking off multiple 25-plus yard runs and keeping the offense just efficient enough to kick field goals.

That doesn't sound impressive unless it's coupled with head coach Mike Macdonald's defense, which wasn't allowing Drake Maye and New England to even pick up a first down for nearly half the game. The Patriots couldn't block Seattle, and Maye appeared to be more like a high school quarterback than a second-year pro.

Was the loss his fault? Far from it, as the Seahawks have proven they can dismantle nearly any offense that doesn't belong to the Los Angeles Rams. Even the Rams can't defeat the Seahawks as Sam Darnold has turned into their kryptonite. And that was the point of the whole postseason.

Darnold left the ghosts of the New York Jets, the team that drafted him in the first round so many years ago, far behind. Instead, after so many doubted him, he played clean football when the games mattered most this season. The Super Bowl wasn't his best game because he was pressured so much, but he also didn't have a turnover.

He didn't in the entire playoffs. He changed his narrative.

Longtime veterans Leonard Williams and DeMarcus Lawrence were able to finally get Super Bowl victories. Lawrence was allowed to leave by the Dallas Cowboys last offseason, and Dallas failed to make the postseason. Lawrence signed with the Seahawks because he thought he could win a Super Bowl. He did.

Ultimately, the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl because the team was ego-free and won for each other, based on a culture set by Mike Macdonald. That isn't going to change any time soon. Maybe the 2025 championship is just the first of many to come.
