The Seattle Seahawks need a victory in Week 17 if they hope to steal the NFC West this year. Should Seattle win and the Los Angeles Rams lose to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, Seattle will play the Rams in Week 18 for the division crown. That scenario might have been on many 12s' Christmas wish list.
The team is relatively healthy entering Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, too. Running back Kenneth Walker III was ruled out with an ankle injury and then placed on injured reserve. The good news is that backup Zach Charbonnet has been pretty decent when forced into starting duty in 2024 when Walker had to miss a game because of being hurt. Let's hope Charbonnet runs for 100-plus yards versus Chicago.
Only two other Seahawks were expected to miss the game because of injury and neither was expected to be overly impactful anyway. No offense to those players, of course, but Brady Russell and K'Von Wallace have not played big roles for the team. Seattle should be expected to handle their business, defeat the struggling Bears, and then hope the Cardinals beat the Rams on Saturday.

According to FanDuel, Seattle is favored by 4.5 points. As the Bears are at home and most home teams get three points, the Seahawks are actually favored to win but a touchdown by oddsmakers. The positive for 12s is that while the Bears are 4-4 at home (they have not won on the road this season), Seattle is much better away from Lumen Field. Seattle is 3-6 at home and 5-1 on the road.
The over/under is 42.5, so bookies expect the game to be relatively low-scoring. Or maybe Seattle wins 40-2. That would certainly be quite nice and make for a stress-free evening. One can hope anyway.
