Seattle Seahawks inactives list for Week 9 game against Los Angeles Rams
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks will be missing two key players in Week 9 versus the Los Angeles Rams. Wide receiver DK Metcalf will miss his second straight game after suffering a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Week 7. The receiver will now have missed three total games in a career that began in 2019.
Seattle will also be without their top tight end receiving threat. Noah Fant is dealing with a groin problem. Fant has slowly become more of an important cog in the Seattle offense. Without him, rookie AJ Barner might need to have the best game of his young career. He looks capable of doing damage while catching the ball and needs to prove that against the Rams.
Los Angeles ruled three players out before the game. One is their punter, Ethan Evans. Evans is not the best punter in the league, but he is efficient in landing punts inside the 20. He ranks fifth in the NFL in that percentage at 52.2. Let's hope his replacement does no better.

According to FanDuel, the Rams are 1.5-point favorites against the Seahawks even though Seattle is hosting the game. This probably has a lot to do with Seattle missing DK Metcalf and oddsmakers watching what a Metcalf-less Seattle offense looked like against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. It was ugly.
Los Angeles also has had a lot of success against Seattle since Sean McVay became LA's head coach in 2017. Sure, Seattle had changed head coaches from Pete Carroll to Mike Macdonald, but Macdonald has to prove he can do better against McVay than Carroll did. Let's hope Macdonald begins reversing that trend in Week 9.
