The Seattle Seahawks certainly haven't moved around the 2026 draft as much as some people thought they might. In the first round, instead of trading back, the team chose running back Jadarian Price. General manager John Schneider didn't trade back in round two, either, and took TCU safety Bud Clark.

Seattle only had four selections entering the draft, so they needed to make them all count. While Price has received mixed reactions, even though Seattle needed a running back, Clark will likely receive a better response.

He is excellent in coverage, had 15 interceptions in college, and is the kind of ball-hawk that head coach Mike Macdonald loves. Clark also might be the instant replacement for outgoing Coby Bryant.

It was a little frustrating for 12s to have to watch players like edge rusher Zion Young and cornerback D'Angelo Ponds leave the board, but this is what happens when a team wins the Super Bowl. They have to pick last in each round. With the great comes the meh.

Clark is far from meh, however, and will be joining a Seahawks roster that is fairly loaded. The team lost several free agents, sure, but the depth was solid. One of those free agents was Bryant, and he earned his starting gig by making plays in practice.

The team will already know what Clark is capable of. The nearly 6'1" and 190-pound safety will need to gain weight to be stout against the run in the NFL, but he has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.41 and had a vertical jump of 38 inches. He has the athleticism to be good.

Will he play immediately? Maybe not as the Seattle Seahawks defensive backfield is loaded, but that means Clark has time to acclimate to the NFL, and that's a great thing.
