Seattle Seahawks fans have a real chance at happiness on Sunday. The team will play in Super Bowl 60 and is favored to win. Of course, the team still has to execute at a high level of efficiency to do so, but that is the expectation.

A key part of that will be wide receiver/kick and punter returner Rashid Shaheed. Since he was acquired at the trade deadline by general manager John Schneider from the New Orleans Saints, he has been electric on special teams and dynamic at times on offense. His versatility is a problem for opposing teams.

He also understands what offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak needs from him, and Kubiak knows what Shaheed is capable of. This isn't the first season they have worked together, of course. The two were with the Saints in 2024, too, as Kubiak was the OC in New Orleans.

Seattle Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed could follow Klint Kubiak to the Las Vegas Raiders

As most 12s know by now, Kubiak is expected to become the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after the season ends. He has met with Vegas twice, and now the Raiders just have to wait to officially offer Kubiak the job once the Seahawks' season is done. That will be next week.

The current Seattle offensive coordinator is obviously going to want as many players as possible working in his system, that knows how to make the best of it. One of those players is Shaheed, who is a free agent after the season. The Raiders also need wide receivers, so Shaheed might have an expanded role as a wideout in Vegas than he would with the Seahawks.

The hope is that Seattle's positive organizational culture has made enough of an impression on the 27-year-old wide receiver that he wants to stay, no matter if a coach who is very familiar with him leaves or not. The Las Vegas Raiders need Rashid Shaheed, but so do the Seattle Seahawks.

After all, Seattle might not have even won the NFC West and, therefore, been the top seed in the NFC, without one specific play by Shaheed. In Week 16, with his team trailing the Los Angeles Rams 3014 in the second half, he returned a punt for a touchdown, completely changing the tenor of the game and the divisional race. Seattle would go on to win in overtime.

Both the Seattle Seahawks and the Raiders have the cap room to afford Rashid Shaheed, who, according to Spotrac, could command as much as $14 million a season in a new deal. The question is whether the wide receiver wants to follow a coach to his new team or if he wants to stay with a potential Super Bowl winner.
