No matter who you might like to follow for football news on social media, you've likely seen a person, such as Trey Wingo, spark a rumor about the Las Vegas Raiders trading Maxx Crosby soon. If that happens, why shouldn't the Seattle Seahawks be a potential destination?

Seattle makes as much sense as any team. Supposedly, Vegas would want two first-round picks for the elite edge rusher, and Seattle has that. In fact, the Seahawks would likely get more value out of trading the No. 32 pick in 2026 and likely at least a pick in the 20s in 2027 for Crosby than in using the actual picks.

The Seahawks' selections might be too low for Vegas to be interested. Maybe not, depending on what teams actually offer. Throwing in another later-round pick might be something Seattle can do as well.

Seattle Seahawks make a logical trade destination for the Las Vegas Raiders' Maxx Crosby

The Seahawks and Raiders also have a built-in relationship. Vegas just stole Klint Kubiak, Seattle's offensive coordinator this past season, and made him the head coach. Clearly, Tom Brady and the other people who own or run the Raiders don't have a bad opinion of Seattle even after former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was one-and-done in Vegas.

Does that translate to Las Vegas dealing Maxx Crosby to Seattle? Not necessarily, but beyond the natural connection, the Seahawks also have a need at Crosby's position. He would instantly fix and even upgrade the spot.

Seattle could be set to lose Boye Mafe in free agency, and whether veteran DeMarcus Lawrence retires this year or next, he is bound to leave sooner than later. Moreover, Derick Hall will be a free agent next offseason. The team is verging on having a crisis at edge rusher.

Maxx Crosby's contract is expensive, but affordable for general manager John Schneider. He is signed through 2029, but his cap hit is highest in 2026 at $35,791,250. After that, it diminishes every season, and he has no guaranteed money on his deal.

He might not need to. The edge rusher is almost 29 years old, and by the time his current deal is done, he will be nearing his mid-30s. He might be ready to retire at that point, but still able to play at a high level.

The truth is that if the Las Vegas Raiders trade Maxx Crosby, he is going to be a good acquisition for his new team. He is excellent at chasing down quarterbacks, but also excels against the run. Just imagine what head coach Mike Macdonald could do with Crosby on his defense.
