Noah Igbinoghene has bounced around the NFL a bit in his career. He was signed by the Seattle Seahawks in free agency this year, but he likely faced an uphill battle to make the active roster. Ultimately, he was released when final cuts were made.
He wasn't signed to the practice squad either, and maybe he chose not to be. After all, he has spent six years in the league, and in the last two seasons, he played in 32 games for the Washington Commanders. It was likely only a matter of time before some team came calling.
That happened on Tuesday, but Igbinoghene's new destination isn't going to win many games. He was signed to the active roster of the Cleveland Browns, basically a team that is the NFL's Mordor, though the only issue is that a ring eventually lands in Mordor, and that hasn't happened in Cleveland and isn't going to happen anytime soon.

The move offers Igbinoghene two possibilities, however. One is that he will probably play real games, and he obviously wasn't going to do that with the Seahawks. The second is that he might play well enough to get future offers in free agency so that he can take flight from the awfulness that happens with the Browns.
One could say that the Cleveland organization (not the city; that is fine) is snake-bitten, but that's not true. Not unless the Browns are the snake and they simply keep biting themselves.
Noah Igbinoghene isn't a bad person, though, and he deserves better than his new landing spot. He will get paid far more than the average human being to do a job that children dream of doing, but he's earned that chance. He hasn't even had a bad career.
That said, the Seattle Seahawks basically decided to make an offer to Terrion Arnold, a player who is facing eight felony charges and is currently on the league's exempt list, rather than stick with Igbinoghene. In essence, general manager John Schneider would rather have a player who might not be able to play than one who can but isn't going to be very good in Mike Macdonald's system.
Cleveland might win three or four games. Maybe. The Seahawks could win that many in most months. Still, Igbinoghene will stay on an active roster, play as well as he possibly can, and hopefully make a brighter financial future for him and his family. That's literally the most the Browns can offer.
