The Seattle Seahawks are now 0-2 in the 2026 preseason after losing to the Tennessee Titans, but that doesn't really matter. What does is players doing well enough to earn a roster spot. The outcomes are meaningless, but what happens in the game isn't.
Most of the roster is known, but with injuries mounting, some players still have a chance to prove they should keep getting paid to play football in the Pacific Northwest. For instance, a brutal injury to rookie safety Bud Clark could open a spot for AJ Finley.
Three players who needed to keep showing they should be on the 43-man roster when final cuts are made on August 30 are below. One is an edge rusher whom the team probably hopes can be retained on the practice squad. He might be outplaying that scenario, though.

Cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett
Besides what he did or did not do in pass coverage, the best play that Pritchett made all night was a tackle on a run outside. The cornerback has had tackling issues in the past, and his lack of physicality likely led to him not playing much. He might have fixed that issue.
Pritchett's run stop was impressive for a cornerback who isn't as big as, say, Richard Sherman. The 2024 draft pick also plays a position that is struggling with form and injury, and that should also allow him to stay on the roster in his third season. Seattle has been desperate enough to agree to sign Terrion Arnold and actually sign Trevon Diggs.
At least with Pritchett, the team understands what it is going to get. He isn't going to be a starter, but as long as he can continue to build on his new ability to help stop the run, he will get valuable reps in real games.
Edge rusher Connor O'Toole
The question is how many edge rushers the Seahawks might keep, and if the answer is four, then O'Toole is not going to make the team. He might possess enough raw skill that the team doesn't want to risk another team picking him up, however. The converted wide receiver is still learning how to play his position, but he was impressive against the Titans.
He finished with four tackles, but, more importantly, 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss. That is elite production even if it was Tennessee's backups. The hope when Seattle signed O'Toole as an undrafted free agent in 2025 was that he could develop into a key contributor, and he might arrive at that sooner than expected.
Linebacker Chaz Surratt
Surratt is unlikely to get many reps on defense, but he could be a standout on special teams. He has the motor to be successful in the third phase of the game, and he proved his drive to succeed on one play in the first half as a linebacker.
Titans quarterback Cam Ward was flushed to his right and began to head down the field when Surratt came from behind him, dove at the ball, and was able to force a fumble. The ball eventually went out of bounds, but the play is certainly something that would have gotten the attention of the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff. Surratt is probably a keeper for special teams alone.
