Unlike most NFL teams, the Seattle Seahawks don't have that much to do before the start of the season. Most of their core players will return, most of their assistant coaches are there, and while there's always something to fix or tweak, they're in a great spot right now.
Of course, the team's sale might be a bit of a distraction, and they will certainly miss some of the guys who left. Even so, Mike Macdonald's troops are mostly set, and they should pick things right where they left them when they hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy less than six months ago.
With training camp almost underway, the Seahawks have two minor issues to address. And while they should feel pretty confident about both, they will most likely control the narrative throughout training camp.

What about Devon Witherspoon's contract extension?
For months, Devon Witherspoon's contract extension has been at the back of Seahawks fans' minds. They've been told to wait, as it should be a matter of 'when' the deal gets done rather than 'if' he'll get an extension.
That should still be the case, and there's no indication that Witherspoon and the organization don't see eye to eye or aren't interested in getting a deal done. That said, the clock is ticking, and that can lead to speculation and rumors.
Witherspoon might only be waiting for the New England Patriots to extend Christian Gonzalez so he can use his contract as a baseline for his own extension. It might also be on hold because of the team's sale, though that seems unlikely.
Whatever the case, the fact of the matter is that they have to get this deal done, and the longer it takes, the more speculation and back-and-forth there will be. They don't want to jeopardize their relationship with one of their building blocks.
How far along is Jadarian Price?
The Seattle Seahawks trusted their gut and took Jadarian Price with the last pick of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. While he was the consensus RB2 behind his fellow Notre Dame star, Jeremiah Love, some argued it was a bit of a reach.
Price looked the part in early offseason workouts, but the jury is still out on him. If ready, he'll be a seamless replacement for Kenneth Walker III and hold down the fort in Zach Charbonnet's absence. If not, Brian Fleury's offense could be in trouble.
The Seahawks have more than enough options to help the rookie alleviate the burden. From the recently signed Emanuel Wilson to a veteran like George Holani, they can always take things slowly with their rookie if they don't think he's at full speed yet.
All eyes will be on Price during training camp. He's the biggest and most important new piece in their offense, and they might be forced to make a move if he struggles early on. There's no reason to believe that'll be the case, though.
