The last time the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl was in early 2014. The NFL decided to hold the game in an odd location that year. Seattle trounced the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. A risk of bad weather was certainly a possibility when the game was scheduled.
Thankfully, the only issues for either team were the Legion of Boom overwhelming Peyton Manning and his Denver offense 43-8. It didn't snow, but 12s flooded New York City and downtown Seattle after the game in celebration. Some of that might happen on Sunday, too.
Only 12s would flood the parking lots of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, while avoiding the nearby electrical substation. The home of the San Francisco 49ers will be the home to Super Bowl LX, where Seattle will take on the New England Patriots. Seattle is favored, but as all football fans know, the game could go either way, even if it seems like a blowout at halftime.
The rain shouldn't fall in Super Bowl LX when the Seattle Seahawks play the New England Patriots
Just like in New Jersey 12 years ago, the weather shouldn't play a factor in the game. Even while the Seahawks and 49ers had to surprisingly deal with rain when they played in early January at Levi's Stadium (Seattle won easily), no precipitation is expected this coming Sunday.
According to the Weather Channel, the forecast could not be better. The temperature will reach 66 degrees by kickoff, and only get as low as the upper 50s by the end of the game. The wind will be no more than 10 mph, and for most of the game, there is no more than a five percent chance of precipitation.
In other words, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold shouldn't have any issues gripping the ball to complete passes to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and running back Kenneth Walker should have great footing to break off some explosive runs. Seattle's defense shouldn't struggle to react to what the Patriots offense is trying to do.
Will there be a celebration by the 12s beginning late in the afternoon on Sunday? One can hope, of course. If there is a party after a Seattle Seahawks victory, fans should prepare for partly cloudy skies in Seattle with temperatures in the upper 40s. Depending on how late one stays out, there is a chance of rain after midnight.
