The Seattle Seahawks take on the Los Angeles Rams for a spot in the Super Bowl. The matchup might feature the two best teams in the NFL. The assumption is that whoever wins will be favored against their AFC opponent.
The good news for Seattle is that the team is fairly healthy entering the game. Left tackle Charles Cross has been dealing with a foot issue, and he hasn't practiced in the week before facing the Rams, but Cross has no injury designation and will play.
His backups might be more in question, literally. Veteran Josh Jones is questionable with knee and ankle issues, while rookie Amari Kight is doubtful with a knee problem. The hope, of course, is that neither Jones nor Kight would be needed anyway, and Cross and right tackle Abraham Lucas will be healthy throughout the game.
Seattle Seahawks in good shape health-wise before NFC Championship game
One other Seahawks player was listed as out for the game, and that was special teams player Chazz Surratt. The University of North Carolina product has had an ankle injury, and though he was a full participant in practice this week, he won't play against LA.
Rookie fullback Robbie Ouzts is questionable with a neck injury. He was limited in practice.
The Los Angeles Rams had not yet identified their game statuses for players when Seattle released theirs. The biggest question was about defensive lineman Byron Young, who was not able to practice on Wednesday and Thursday. For the most part, Los Angeles is healthy.
Ahead of the Divisional Round, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold was listed as questionable with an oblique injury. He has no designation for the NFC Championship game. Head coach Mike Macdonald said earlier in the week that Darnold felt better during the week than before the San Francisco 49ers contest in the Divisional Round.
Seattle will also get back two players who were on injured reserve but were activated before the game. One is running back George Holani, who might be expected to pick up some of the slack from RB2 Zach Charbonnet tearing his ACL against the 49ers.
The other is rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo, who could provide Sam Darnold with another red zone target. This all means the two best teams left in the 2025 NFL playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, will be nearly as healthy as possible entering the biggest game of the year so far.
