DUD - Seahawks putrid run game

Something is not right with the Seattle Seahawks offense, and the most glaring issue lies in their inability to establish a consistent running game. This problem has become increasingly apparent as the team continues to struggle, especially in their recent loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

While the 49ers deserve credit for having a stout run defense, the Seahawks' inability to generate any significant yardage on the ground is a concern that must be addressed immediately if they hope to provide some relief to quarterback Geno Smith and the passing game.

In their matchup with the 49ers, the Seahawks’ running backs, Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet, combined for just 52 rushing yards. This level of production is far below the expectations for a team that has historically relied on its ground game to balance the offense.

Without an effective run game, the burden falls entirely on Geno Smith to carry the offense, which limits the team's ability to keep defenses guessing. As a result, defenses can focus on shutting down Seattle’s passing attack, putting even more pressure on Smith and his receivers.

Seattle’s coaching staff must take a hard look at their offensive schemes and figure out a way to open up lanes for their running backs. Whether it’s adjustments to the blocking schemes or more creative play-calling, something has to change.

Walker and Charbonnet are both talented runners, but they need better opportunities to showcase their abilities. If the Seahawks continue to underperform in the running game, they will remain one-dimensional and predictable, making it much easier for opposing defenses to neutralize their offense.

To get back in the win column and regain their early-season form, the Seahawks must solve their running game issues quickly. Establishing a balanced offensive attack is critical for their success, and without improvement on the ground, the team risks prolonging their current slump.
