The Seattle Seahawks boast one of the most complete teams across the NFL landscape and are considered among the league’s top teams, if not the best. The Seahawks simply have elite roster construction on offense, defense, and special teams; it's why they're so dangerous.Â
The usual candidates expected to make heaps of noise and rack up the statistics are, of course, slated to have the biggest impact if the Seahawks are going to do what the majority expects them to: win games, make the playoffs, and compete for another Super Bowl.Â
That said, while Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, or Devon Witherspoon will likely garner most of the attention thanks to their names alone, the Seahawks have plenty of under-the-radar players whose impact next season could be just as important.
3 players the Seattle Seahawks may end up thanking at the end of next season
The following three players are those whose names fall behind No. 1 options, or who spend more time on the sidelines than on the actual field, but could be incredibly clutch at just the right time.Â
Jason Myers, K
Myers would fit the description of that player who paces the sidelines more than he runs onto the field, but that's only because he's a kicker. The thing is, though, Myers isn't just your average field goal kicker; he's one of the few elite ones in the NFL, and the Seahawks have already reaped the rewards of his clutch gene.Â
Myers came up huge for Seattle on more than a few occasions last season, and it was a franchise-history-making season at that. Myers was among the league leaders in field goal kicking despite missing seven attempts, but he led the league in points; going 48-for-48 on extra points helped.
At the end of the day, Myers was clutch for the Seahawks at the right time, and next season, they'll be sure to lean on him again.Â
Josh Jobe, CB
Riq Woolen's free agency departure opened the door for Josh Jobe to step into the main role opposite Witherspoon. What Jobe has done in his two years in Seattle was clearly enough for the Seahawks to trust him as a full-time starter after deciding to let Woolen Walk.Â
Jobe had an excellent 2025 season and was even better in the playoffs en route to a Super Bowl, where he likely played the best game of his Seahawks career. Jobe isn't as great as Witherspoon, but his ceiling is incredibly high, which could make his impact on the Seahawks' defense next year unforgettable; his first season as a No. 1 cornerback in Seattle.
Rashid Shaheed, WR
Seahawks fans have already witnessed Rashid Shaheed's clutch-time plays in the short time he's been in Seattle. John Schneider hit a home run by making the mid-season trade for Shaheed, and choosing him or Kenneth Walker III in free agency might turn out to be the right call.Â
We all know what Shaheed can do with his speed and versatility as a wide receiver and kick returner. While Smith-Njigba is the Seahawks' best wide receiver, Shaheed poses as their best offensive weapon.
Seahawks fans should expect a few more razzle-dazzle plays from Shaheed next season, a few more touchdowns, and a lot more receiving yards. He might just be the Seahawks' biggest x-factor on offense.Â
