Weather report for Seahawks vs Rams Week 18 might increase Seattle's odds

Another beautiful day in LA.

The Los Angeles Rams have nothing to play for in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks, but Seattle certainly has a few things they want to achieve. No, Seattle will not be making the postseason, but there are still records that could be broken and incentives to be reached. Plus, Seattle could get a 10th victory, its most since 2020.

Seattle is going to be helped quite a bit by the Rams resting a bunch of starters, including quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. The Seahawks are actually favored, according to FanDuel, by almost a touchdown. This is rare for an NFL road team versus a team that has a better record, but oddsmakers know many Rams won't play.

The weather won't be a factor in the game either. While a lot of the rest of the country might be dealing with a winter storm and the cold, all is fine in Los Angeles. According to NFL Weather, temperatures are expected to stay in the lower 70s throughout the game, the wind will gust only up to 7 mph, and there is zero chance of precipitation.

Weather should not be a factor when the Seattle Seahawks play the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18

Seattle should win the game, and the weather should not keep them from doing that.

Several Seahawks should be happy about that. One is quarterback Geno Smith who could earn an extra $6 million if things go well. He would earn $2 million if he throws for at least 186 yards (this would be earned because it would make Smith reach his career-high in passing yards in a season), another $2 million if Seattle wins and is therefore 10-7, and yet another $2 million if he completes enough passes to stay about his career-best of 69.8 completion percentage.

Smith is currently completing 70.2 percent of his passes in 2024 so there is a slim margin for error against the Rams.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba needs five catches to reach 101 for the season. This would push him one reception past Tyler Lockett for the Seahawks' all-time best receptions in a single season. Lockett had 100 in 2020.

Fellow receiver DK Metcalf needs 61 receiving yards to get to 1,000 for the season. That would be his straight year of at least 1,000, and his fourth in his past five years. Metcalf needs a touchdown catch to reach five for the season. If he does this, he and Randy Moss will be the only two players in NFL history to have at least 900 receiving yards and at least five touchdown catches in their first six seasons.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
